Artist Statement

I work in oil painting. My work uses surface and paint application that create a rhythmic hum that guides the viewer throughout my compositions. These rhythms portray my experience navigating life. I convey how shifting focus in life changes how people and objects relate to each other, such as when focusing on one thing, it can distort its surroundings. This shifting of focus reveals life in its various forms to create kinship among the artist, viewer, and environment.
