Hymn of creation by Saloni Parekh at Gallery 1010

November 1, 2022

Hymn of Creation installation poster

An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7pm Friday, November 11. Gallery 1010 is located at 100 S. Gay Street Suite 114 Knoxville, TN 37902

Hymn of Creation is an allegorical interpretation of the macrocosm’s beginning, featuring works by Saloni Parekh. From many stories of creation, Parekh focuses on the 129th Hymn of the Rig Veda, known as ‘Nasadiya Sukta’. The agnostic approach in the hymn about the creator and creation fuels the imagination to a newly objectified realm of mythical symbiosis. The approach of painting, drawing and video in the exhibition handles the topic of religious studies from a performative studies perspective.

Additional hours on November 12 from 10am – 1pm.
