Handheld Film Festival – Fall 2022
Handheld is a festival of student films, videos, animations, and audio works held at the UT School of Art. It is a biannual film festival made up of the best and most interesting work being made in Time-Based Art (TBA) classes from foundations to graduate levels.
The Fall 2022 festival unspools at 6:30 pm sharp on Friday, December 9, 2022. The program includes a wide range of installations in Room 105 and the Atrium and screenings in Room 109.

Windowed City by Chrysta Alley – SOUND INSTALLATION: Atrium
A sound installation where the atmosphere of Knoxville is right outside the window. (NOTE: This is an installation outside auditorium)
Urban vs. Rural by Kenzie Felkins – SOUND INSTALLATION: Atrium
A Sound Installation contrasting the tension between an industrial city and a primordial environment.
Inevitable Realities by Ruchi Singh – VIDEO INSTALLATION: Room 105
Entering into many different realms of inevitable realities of the universe, some known – from this world, some unknown – from other worlds.

What Part Does Country Play in Broadway? by Victoria Swindell (sound art, 3:50)
An exploratory conversation between country music and broadway/classical- can they ever be in agreement together or are they forever separated by genre? (NOTE: This is a sound work- no picture)
The Will of the Wisp by Brennan Murphy (2:05)
Whilst following a wisp, a supernatural creature ends up finding more than what they sought out for.

A young girl finds herself on a whimsical journey into another world and finds comfort and curiosity in the backyard leaves.
