Big Orange Give to the School of Art Downtown Gallery
The UT Downtown Gallery needs your help!
Today we’re participating in Big Orange Give, the University of Tennessee’s annual day of giving. We are asking for 50 gifts on November 8th to the UT Downtown Gallery.
Any gift – no matter the amount helps us!
OUR HISTORY
Since September 2004, the UT Downtown Gallery has been a founding art organization of the downtown Knoxville art scene. The gallery’s presence downtown has aided in a revitalization of the area into a thriving, creative neighborhood filled with arts and music venues.
OUR MISSION
As the only public facing University of Tennessee professional arts organization located within the community, the gallery presents culturally thought-provoking, educational, and engaging art exhibitions. Our programming is created and driven by artists, examines multiple viewpoints, and engages with visitors’ ideas and expectations about art.
We coordinate free, public lectures and workshops by exhibiting artists, participate in First Friday events, and when applicable, present to varied community organizations and K-12 classes, attracting approximately 6,000 visitors annually.
OUR NEED
We have been fortunate to always offer free programming without outside funding, however we are now seeking assistance from our community to continue being able to serve the downtown and Knoxville area.
Can we depend on your support during Big Orange Give? Any gift, no matter the amount, will help ensure our continued presence in the downtown arts community and enable us to offer expanded community outreach and thought-provoking exhibitions for the next 20 years.
