BFA Graduate Chloe Baker Begins Art Career in Knoxville
Chloe Baker is a Spring 2023 graduate from the University of Tennessee’s School of Art with a Bachelors of Fine Arts and a concentration in 4D Studio Arts. Beginning in January 2022, while still in school, she had the incredible opportunity to kick-start her professional journey with an internship at Loch & Key Productions.
Loch & Key is a powerhouse in the creative industry with deep roots in Knoxville. On joining the team there, she found that half of her co-workers are fellow UT Knoxville Alumni! This year, they were recognized at the Rocky Top Business Awards as one of the fastest-growing UT Knoxville alumni-owned businesses. For the last 12 years, Loch & Key has been producing engaging visual content and most recently, has launched a marketing department that manages successful dynamic digital campaigns. From clients like Bonnaroo, Hulu, Eastman, Snapchat, Toyota, Verizon, and even The University of Tennessee. The L&K team leverages its expertise in production and marketing strategy to build brands from the ground up and remains committed as they continue to succeed.
Chloe Baker was hired as a full-time employee with the L&K team in January 2023 and has been focusing a lot of her time there working with the crew creating content for many of the music festivals around the region.
Reflecting on her education, she stated, “My time as a student in the school of art propelled me to where I am today. Professors like John Kelley, Elaine Sheldon, and Paul Harrill partnered alongside me and taught me how to use the tools I will need to flourish in my professional career. Because of my dedication as a student, I was able to join a team of professionals in a role that my 10-year-old self could have only dreamed of. I could write and direct short films, grip, and gaff, shoot documentaries, learn the ins and outs of producing and budgeting a major motion picture, build sets and characters for stop motion animation – the possibilities were endless for what I was able to gain from my education. If I wanted to learn how to do something, the tools and support were only a phone call or email away.”
As a full-time creative at Loch & Key, Chloe Baker is encouraged to contribute her artistic vision, and excited to utilize her technical expertise in bringing stories to life for a wide array of clients. She says, “I’m grateful to be surrounded by talented individuals who continually champion my growth. I can’t wait to see what the future holds!”
Congratulations to Chloe Baker from the UT School of Art as she begins her career.
