Landin Eldridge to Serve as Director for Gallery 1010 in 2023-24
The UT School of Art is pleased to announce that Landin Eldridge will serve as Director for Gallery 1010 for the 2023-2024 exhibition season. Landin previously served as Associate Director during the 2022-2023 year. Kaitlyn Anderson has been named the Associate Director of Gallery 1010 for 2023-2024.
Landin Eldridge was born and raised in Siler City, a rural North Carolina town. She received her BA in Studio Art and Theatre at Davidson College in 2021. While at Davidson, she dipped her toes in all areas of art, participating in multiple theatrical productions (as both a designer and an actor) and singing groups, as well as working in an on-campus organization that helped provide grants for various artistic ventures.
Landin was thrilled to show at Gallery 1010 for the first time in the Spring of 2022, collaborating with fellow MFA grad Chloe Wack to produce “Baby Show: A Show of Babies.” More recently she presented an exhibition titled, “Gator: Drawings and Digital Cannibalism.” In her studio practice, Landin explores concepts of intimacy, embarrassment, memory, fear, and relationship through the use of humor. Kaitlyn Anderson was born and raised in North Georgia. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 3D Studio Arts from Georgia Southern University in 2022. She is currently a candidate for a Master of Fine Arts with a concentration in Ceramics at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Her work has been shown at the Bascom Center for the Visual Arts and more recently at the National Council for Education and the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) Annual Conference.
In her studio practice, Kaitlyn explores and experiments with ceramic sculpture in conjunction with soft found fibers. She is particularly interested in the interactive cycles of the natural world, and how those reflect and represent her own cycles, as well as deep diving into the process of decay and the agents which promote declension in nature. Gallery 1010 is grateful for the work and leadership that Hanna Seggerman provided over the course of the past year as director of the gallery. 
Congratulations to her upon completion of her MFA in Studio Art this spring. In her studio practice she explores various ways to record personal experience through structured systems that allow opportunities of chance to create patterns derived from the language and behavior found within both materials and human beings. She uses a wide variety of media to pursue these explorations through both image and object making. This Spring, Hanna completed her MFA Thesis with an exhibition titled, “Attention and Being.”

In announcing the changes in leadership for Gallery 1010, Emily Bivens, Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at the School of Art, stated, “I am so excited for Landin and Kaitlyn to work with each other and so proud of the 1010 and the leadership that continues to serve the student body at UTK, the art community in Knoxville, and the greater Knoxville public. It is such an amazing operation that you all run! You serve the true mission of the UT School of Art, allowing art to reach beyond the art-indoctrinated and the university.” Of Hanna Seggerman’s leadership, Bivens stated, “I knew exactly what an amazing leader and what a tremendous job you would do when we asked you to be part of 1010. There is no stone left unturned and no conscientious moment left unattended to when you are involved. I am so grateful for you and ao appreciative that you were such a vital part of our program.”
Gallery 1010 is a contemporary art exhibition space located at 100 S. Gay Street in Suite 114 of The Emporium Center of downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. As one of three University of Tennessee School of Art galleries, Gallery 1010 is the only fully student-run, non-profit, off-campus exhibition space in the state of Tennessee. The mission of Gallery 1010 is to provide space for the School of Art students of the University of Tennessee to experiment and develop new ideas while gaining educational gallery experience in professional standards and practices.
