Undergraduate Studies
The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
Students are able to choose from a variety of degrees: a BFA in studio art, a Bachelor of Arts in studio art, a Bachelor of Arts in art history, or a Bachelor of Arts in cinema studies. We also offer minors in art history, cinema studies, and studio art, and stand-alone elective courses for non-majors.
Creative Fulfillment
Our programs prepare students to pursue graduate work or a variety of career options, including fine art, illustration, digital art, photography, media, filmmaking, gallery or museum work, arts administration, and teaching.
Undergraduate majors enjoy the advantages of small studio art classes with the benefits of a large university with its wealth of activities and course selections. The School of Art’s role is to guide students toward individual creative and educational fulfillment in each of our programs.
If you are a transfer student, The University of Tennessee School of Art works with local two-year institutions such as Pellissippi State Community College to make the pathway from an Associate of Arts or Associate of Fine Arts to a Bachelor of Arts degree as straightforward as possible.
