UT School of Art Faculty News and Honors
During the 2025-2026 academic year, the School of Art welcomed three new assistant professors: Bucky Miller in photography, Zoe Weldon-Yochim in art history, and Katie Mahalic in time-based art and cinema studies.
Recent faculty honors include the following:
- Amanda Evans, assistant professor of ceramics, was selected as a Denbo Center for Arts and Humanities Faculty Fellow for 2026-2027.
- Christopher McNulty, director of the School of Art, was one of four University of Tennessee faculty members selected as a 2025-2026 SEC Academic Leadership Development Program Fellow.
- Bucky Miller, assistant professor of photography, was awarded a 2025 Current Art Fund Grant from Tri-Star Arts.
- Mary Laube, associate professor of painting and drawing, was awarded a 2025 Individual Artist Fellowship in Visual Arts (2D) from the Tennessee Arts Commission.
- Kelli Wood, assistant professor of art history, received the Professional Promise in Research and Creative Achievement Award at the UT Academic Honors Banquet.
- Heather Coker Hawkins, assistant professor of cinema studies and time-based art, received an Excellence in Teaching Award at the UT Academic Honors Banquet.
- Mary Campbell, associate professor of art history, was named a Lindsay Young Professor for 2025.
