October 10, 2022

An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7pm Friday, October 14. Gallery 1010 is located at 100 S. Gay Street Suite 114 Knoxville, TN 37902

Primordial Ocean is a two-person exhibition and installation that will feature art by Emily McCall Roca Rice and Saloni Parekh. Primordial Ocean explores the basic vibrations of sound at the beginning of time. The sound from which the universe birthed. The sound that might know the beginning or might not know.
Parekh and Roca Rice collaborated on several objects together to offer a physical and visual aid. This will consist of ceramic vessels that might serve as pathways for the vibrations to reverberate throughout, forming choreography. Painting and drawing through ceramics, gathering, or fabricating sounds, installing the object, each step in the practice becomes an act of revelation.

Additional hours on October 15 from 10am – 1pm.
