Remembering Joseph Falsetti

Joseph S. Falsetti, an emeritus professor in the School of Art at the University of Tennessee, passed away December 15, 2016, in Knoxville. He was born in Cleto, Italy in 1934, and attended Ohio State University, where he was an All-American soccer player, scoring more goals than any other player for the Big 10 in 1957. Joe graduated from OSU with a master’s degree in sculpting and also attended Carnegie Mellon University. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the National Honor Society. Joe taught at the University of Missouri for 13 years, and at the University of Tennessee for more than 26 years. He was recognized nationally and internationally as a sculptor of fine art, receiving commissions for many public art pieces. He was much appreciated and esteemed by his students and colleagues.
