SELECTED FOR THE COLLECTION OF THE MARY AND LEIGH BLOCK MUSEUM OF
ART AT NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY
Four prints completed in the UTK Print Workshop by prior visiting
artists have been selected for the collection of the Mary
and Leigh Block Museum of Art. The Block Museum is the fine
arts museum of Chicago’s North Shore, offering focused visual
arts programming for the Northwestern University community and the
greater Chicago area. Their permanent collection consists primarily
of works on paper with a nationally reknown collection of modern
and contemporary prints.

For the past twenty years visiting artists
have collaborated with students and faculty in the School of Art
on a variety of print and book projects. These projects allow students
to work directly with nationally and internationally known artists.
Projects have been funded through several sources, including regular
support from the Haines Morris Endowment in the College of Arts
and Sciences. See the Visiting Artists in Printmaking link for a
complete listing of recent artists from the program:

Works selected for the Block Museum include
a lithograph by New York illustrator, printmaker, and animal rights
activist Sue Coe (pictured above), two prints by Dr. Eric Avery,
a medical doctor and artist from Galveston, Texas, and a screenprint
by Polish printmaker Mirek Pawlowski.
