| Big Orange Ink Open House

The Printmaking Program at the UTK School of Art held its annual Open House in conjunction with the Sunday March 2nd UT Men’s Basketball victorious game against the University of Kentucky.The Open House gave the campus and local the community a chance to see the work of students and faculty in the printmaking program, ranked #3 in the nation by US News and World Report.

Coach Bruce Pearl made a special limited-edition etching (pictured above) that was sold to raise funds to support the UT Print Club. Printed on Somerset 100% cotten rag paper, this is a work of art that reflects his passion for play calling. Each print is signed and numbered by Coach Pearl. A few of this prints still remain and are only $30 each. If you would like one, please contact Beauvais Lyons at 865-974-3202.
As part of the event a woodcut depicting “Smokey” was produced and given free to visitors. Students also demonstrated stone lithography, intaglio, papermaking and other printmaking techniques.
