Facilities
The Art & Architecture Building was completed in 1981 and houses extensive facilities available to the students and faculty who work there.
During the Junior and Senior Years, students are provided with individual studios or rooms with group studio space; working areas are provided for all undergraduate students.
During the first two years, each student is provided with a studio of approximately 300 square feet located in one of two rooms also containing a discussion space, minimal food preparation facilities, a telephone, and a shared computer. Extensive computer facilities located in the Art & Architecture Building are also available. In the third year, some students move to studios located in a warehouse space some distance from the A & A Building. These studios can be reconfigured to different specifications, but in no case will they be smaller than the studios in the A & A Building and as of Fall 2003, they are larger.
In most cases, we still use paper, canvas, paint and drawing tools. A miter saw is available for stretcher building and an extensive woodshop is shared with Architecture.
