Advising

Which Painting or Drawing Advising option is right for you?

Students pursuing a BFA in Studio Art 2D interested in taking upper division Drawing or Painting courses. In the Painting and Drawing areas there are separate sessions for those who are pre-portfolio and those who have passed portfolio for Painting or Drawing.

Freshmen, Sophomores (pre-portfolio students) or Transfers, this is for you:

Students who have not yet passed portfolio review will need to attend one of the group advising meetings. At this time a Painting or Drawing faculty member will be available to meet with you and review your advising materials. (check the School of Art Calendar for Advising Times)

Juniors or Seniors currently who have passed Painting or Drawing Portfolio, this is for you:

It is important that you attend a Painting and Drawing advising meeting designed for students who have passed portfolio. The Painting and Drawing faculty works closely with each student to assist in the development of a curriculum that best suits her or his needs.
