Born in Osaka in 1954, Yuji Hiratsuka graduated from Tokyo Art Teacher’s University in 1978. He received an M.A. from New Mexico State University in 1987 and an M.F.A. from Indiana University in 1990. He is currently a Professor of Art at Oregon State University in Corvallis where he has taught since 1992. Hiratsuka’s work is included in many public collections, including: The British Museum, UK; Tokyo Central Museum, Japan; Panstwowe Museum, Poland; The House of Humor and Satire, Bulgaria; Cincinnati Art Museum, OH; Jundt Art Museum, WA and The Portland Art Museum, OR. During his visit he will complete an edition in the UTK Print Workshop. His visit is sponsored by the UTK Print Club.
