Admission Requirements
In order to become a candidate in a degree program, the applicant must be admitted by the Graduate School upon the recommendation of the School of Art. Both the Graduate School and the School of Art have specific requirements and application procedures which must be satisfied by the application.

Ceramics:Portfolio Requirements:
Up to 20 images of recent artwork. Portfolios should be in digital format. You should
submit your portfolio in the format that best represents your artwork. Please do not send your
portfolio in a bound folder or notebook.
Digital Format:
Image files should be on a CD-R/CD-RW/DVD/DVD-R and must be able to be read on both Mac and PC
computers. Images need to be in jpeg or tiff format. The files should be 72 dpi, 1200 pixels
maximum on the longest side, and have a file size between 500kb and 2mb. The each image
file should have the applicant’s name and a number corresponding to the image list. A PDF or
PowerPoint slide show (no larger than 25mb total) is also an acceptable portfolio presentation.
Video and film should be on DVD labeled with your name and title(s). Sound art should be in a
QuickTime (mov) file or on a labeled audio CD.Ship or deliver the portfolio to:

The applicant's materials, listed above, will be evaluated by the faculty of the applicant's media concentration. Greatest emphasis is placed on the quality of the applicant's portfolio. Notification of Departmental action will be sent, along with Graduate School results, as soon after this evaluation as possible.
Transfers:
The Department will consider transfer graduate students with the same procedures as outlined above. Specific regulations of the Graduate School limit the number of credits which will be accepted. The School of Art will not necessarily, and seldom does, accept this maximum. Actual credit hours to be applied to the degree will be determined by the Graduate Committee and area faculty in which the student has applied.
